报告摘要:I will present a general framework to construct high-order  numerical methods for solving a large class of parabolic PDEs. It is  based on a generalized SAV approach for time discretization of  dissipative systems, and a fast spectral method in space for both  regular geometries  and a special class of complex geometries.

Before his appointment at Purdue University in  the Fall of 2002, he had previously held positions as a Professor of  Mathematics at both Penn State University and the University of Central  Florida. Since Feb. 2012 he holds the position of Director of Center for  Computational and Applied Mathematics at Purdue University. His main  research interests are numerical analysis, applied mathematics, and  scientific computing. In 2008, he received the Fulbright Award, followed  by the Inaugural Research Award of the College of Science at Purdue  University in 2013. He has also been elected as a Fellow of both the AMS  and SIAM. And according to the Research.com ranking published in  January 2022, he is ranked 170th among the top mathematical scientists  in the world. On the other hand, according to the October 2022 Stanford  Ratings of the World's Top Scientists, he ranks 4th in the world for  single-year (2021) impact and 9th in the world for the career impact in  the field of numerical and computational mathematics. He serves on the  editorial boards of several prominent international research journals  and has authored or co-authored over 250 peer-reviewed research  articles, as well as two books, which have accumulated nearly 23,000  citations on Google Scholar.
